4. How do I create a Post View account?
" Go to www.vmi.edu and click on Admissions, then click on Apply, then click on Apply online and follow the instructions to create your PostView account. PARENTS SHOULD NOT CREATE A POSTVIEW ACCOUNT UNDER THEIR NAME. Post View accounts are only for APPLICANTS, STUDENTS & EMPLOYEES"

" No. Do not change your PostView password. This is a temporary password for Applicants only. You will be required to change your password when you matriculate to VMI - not before that time."

8. Can I make changes to my application after I have certified it?
" No. Once your application has been certified you can no long access it online. If you have changes that need to be made to your application call the VMI Admissions office at 540-464-7211."

9. What is the cost of submitting the VMI Application for Admission?
" The application fee is $41. You must pay this fee before your application can be reviewed by the VMI Admissions counselors."

10. What method of payment can I use to pay the application fee?
" You are required to use a credit card or E-check to pay this fee. This fee is broken down as follows: $40 application fee plus a $1 credit card convenience fee. VMI only accepts Mastercard, American Express, Discover or E-Check as valid methods of payment. VMI DOES NOT ACCEPT VISA CREDIT CARDS. No convenience fee will be assessed if you choose to pay by E-Check."

" Contact the VMI Bursars office at 540-464-7217.

12. After I log out of Post View, how do I return to work on my application?
" Go to the VMI website at www.vmi.edu
" Click on theMy VMI link and then the Post View link.
" When the next screen appears click on the Faculty, Employees and Applicants menu item.
" The PostView login screen will appear where you should enter your User Id and Password.
" The Prospective Students menu will appear. Click on the Prospective Students bar on the right hand side of the screen.
" You will be sent to a screen where you can begin working on your application by selecting "Fill out your application". If you don't complete your application at that time you can always return at a later time to work on your "saved application" by following the above steps and then selecting "Open your Saved Application".

13. I am having trouble entering my birth date on the Fill out Application screen(Demographic Information screen). Is there a certain way the birth date needs to be entered?
" The birth date should be entered in MMDDYYYY format. No slashes(/) or dashes(-) should separate the month, day and year. Example: A birth date of November 12, 1991 should be entered as 11121991."

14. How do I get out of the "loop" that I am stuck in on the Certify and Pay Reminder screen?
" This happens when you select "Yes" from the drop-down box to review your application. If you change the drop-down box to "No" and click the SUBMIT button you will be taken to the next screen (Certify and Pay)."
